Bookbinding Sunday

Right now I’m in love with the artists books by Daniel Essig. His work is amazing.

Today I’m taking it easy and brushing up on my bookbinding technique… so that I can purposefully mis-bind a book while still allowing it to be stable and functional. We’ll just see how this experiment goes.

Here’s my reading list for the week. Or, in other words, my bibliography for my current project. I can’t wait to post pictures!

Bibiography

The Penland Book of Handmade Books published by Lark Books.
The Thames and Hudson Manual of Bookbinding by Arthur W. Johnson.
Bookbinding: A Manual of Techniques by Pamela Richmond.
Handmade Books: An Introduction to Bookbinding by Rob Shephard.
Japanese Bookbinding: Instructions from a Master Craftsman by Kojiro Ikegami.

Have a calm, quiet and productive Sunday…

    Hi,
I like your blog – I stumbled upon it today. It’s a great resource and I’ll be sure to point the team I network with to your site. More on our encaustic team can be found here: beeswaxteam.com
