Gracie McClellan-Brandt passed away last Thursday, September 25 at the age of 14. Gracie was a strong, independent Border Collie who led a unique, feminist lifestyle. Despite a childhood where she moved frequently from household to household, Gracie had a strong sense of personal identity. Throughout her lifetime she worked in a variety of fields, always searching for the perfect job. Over the years Gracie served as a guard dog, a sheep dog, a house dog, a farm dog, a dorm room dog, a personal assistant, a running mate and a therapy aide. She enjoyed living all over the states of Texas and Oklahoma before finally settling in Fort Worth with her late life guardians, Sarah & Kyle. She attained a hard earned reputation amongst her peers for being the sweetest, most gentle and loving companion in the whole neighborhood. Her example in this field will serve as an inspiration to all canines for years to come.
Gracie leaves behind a large extended family and several litters of children. She is sorely missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace Gracie baby.
This painting was a special commission for a dear friend.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
